My name is Alysa. I am a registered nurse specializing in Oncology. I cannot even begin to count how many times someone has asked me why I wanted to become a nurse, especially in the Oncolgy field. Most of the reactions I get are: “That’s so sad.” “How do you do it?” So in an effort to answer that question, I have created this blog.
In my short career of only four years, my patients have managed to teach me a few life lessons to say the least. I have grown to love and remember many patients that have come and gone; whether they have gone home healthy by the grace of God and modern medicine or they have gone Home to a place where pain and suffering are non-existent.
AboRNingMe is my journey of becoming the person I have always expected myself to be. My hope for this blog is that it brings insight and hope to my readers. I have learned so much as a young adult and I am so greatful for the knowledge that I have gained. The most important thing I could possibly think of doing with this insight, is sharing it with others.
